In Week 7 over 300 students presented our whole school production, Matilda! at Futures Church South, in 2 sold-out shows.
The Arts team and students worked so hard in the lead-up to prepare as best as possible and it showed through some stand-out performances, particularly from Evie J (Year 9) as Mrs Wormwood, Riley P (Year 11) as Trunchbull, Lilli S (Year 11) as Cook, and of course, Hailey W (year 7) as our Matilda.
Mr Rusk’s primary students were absolutely adorable and impressed us all with their items, Mrs Chesson’s incredible choreography and performances from her dance students stole the show, and the high school choir, led by Ms Rice, held the entire production together, performing 5 songs on stage, in the wings and even alongside the audience! As much as the students tried to convince us that they are ‘Revolting Children’, they could not be further from this, and we are so proud of them!
Events such as this can only run with the incredible team behind the scenes, led by Arts Leader Mr Schultz. The cast of many backstage included Primary and Secondary staff and every one of them made the production the success it was.
